Here is my first attempt at the light bulb snowman ornament. I think it turned out pretty cute. I got the idea from a link that I found on www.missimagination.com
Next time I will use a color for the hat & mitten roll, instead of the plain white I used on this one. This one was just a first try, so I just used stuff that I didn't care about.

Snowman & Penguin Christmas Ornaments
I am going to attempt to make some Christmas ornaments. I found a link on missimagination.com for making light bulb snowman & penguin ornaments. I'm going to attempt to make them this week if I have enough time. I started out by painting the light bulbs by hand with a sponge brush, but they came out awful. Very lumpy looking. I decided to get some spray paint & bought some more light bulbs to use. It came out much better! Nice and even & smooth looking. I suggest using a glove when spray painting the bulbs LOL I learned this the hard way. My hand was covered in paint & luckily my husband hand some paint brush cleaner that I was able to use to get the paint off. Anyway, here are the bulbs painted and drying. I will post more as I go along with this project.
More Halloween Jars!!
I had so much fun making the Halloween jar luminaries recently, that I had to make some more. I found some different shape/size jars to try out this time. The little Frankenstein & Vampire jar make great pencil holders. I have one with pencils & pens and the other jar is holding paint brushes. The little pumpkins I am putting candy in and a couple of candles to give out as gifts.

Here they are! The kids in their 2010 Halloween Costumes.
A huge thank you to my sister for coming down to take pics of my kiddos in their Halloween costumes. She hasn't had a chance to really do anything with the pics yet, but I am so excited and too impatient to wait...so I am gonna post them the way they are for now hahahahaha. I can always add more later right? The costumes worked out really great & the make up took about 2 hours to do, but it was worth it. Thankfully my kids were super cooperative on Sunday.

Halloween Jars
I was on Missimagination.com a few days ago & found a link to a really fun Halloween jar craft! I decided to give it a shot & went out to get the materials. I was looking for canning jars, but the stores I had checked were all out. I ended up going to a store called Dollar Tree and found some small jar type vases for 1.00 each. I bought paint at walmart for 98 cents per bottle & also got a package of 4 sponge brushes for 1.00.
I had a lot of fun painting the jars. I started out with 6 of them and liked it so much I ended up going back and got the rest of what they had LOL. I ended up with 5 more and I also bought some purple paint too (I started out with only orange, green, white, & black paint).
The first batch that I painted I felt needed a second coat of paint. For the second batch that I painted, I just applied the paint a bit thicker and it made them look good. I did find out that this wasn't such a great idea for what I originally intended them to be for. They were supposed to be luminaries. When I put the candle inside the green & purple jars just didn't have much light at all shining through. If I had stuck with the one coat of paint, I think it may have turned out ok.
I did decide that the jars would make a cute gift....just add some Halloween candy :0)
Here are some pictures (starting out):
Here they are with the candles inside...you can see how the green & purple (below) don't really glow very well.
I added some candy to this jar (my husband wants to take it to work with him)
I forgot about adding a coat of gloss to the jars!! Here they are with the gloss :0)
